This show right here is monumental in terms of both length and number of songs played. It's also monumental because we got the gawd YNOT back on the set. On top of being a dope DJ, good brother, and heavy record collector, he is also the impresario in charge at Lucky Records in Miami. If you don't know do the knowledge. On top of having YNOT on the show, this is an all 45 show that lasted almost 7 hours. YNOT had us nervous as he was probably transporting like $10k worth of 45's in his case, but all went well and we didn't have to rough anybody up. This show features tracks from Stevie Wonder, Arnold Blair, Michael Jackson, Brief Encounter, Mavis John, Los Omnis, Rudy Norman, Biz Markie, Little Beaver, Sundown, The Rising Sun, Galaxy and Koudede. It's really hard to believe that after over a decade of doing this show (including the first 100 with Lumin) we have never done an all hip hop show. Damn near everyone that has played on this show started of with records due to an absolute fascination with how these songs were constructed. It's been a lifelong journey for us that will not stop for as long as these tickers keep ticking. That being said this show could literally be endless and just a small taste of the deep love we have for the greatest american artform. Period. This is the end of an era, but also a new beginning for the show and station. KEMS is moving to Tallahassee on 1/1/26 and this is the last show we will do together physically. Being that this show was such a momentous occasion for us we invited the familia to come through to play some joints and while everyone couldn't make it due to the holidays a gang of heads showed up for your boy. We also decided to do it a little different for this one and everyone was just playing a few records at a time. No real plan, just good music which is also as good of a description of the show as I can think of.
